What is a Board Room?

The boardroom is used for the most important meetings in a company. It can hold up to 48 people (24 can be seated at the table and 24 seated around the perimeter of the walls). This space is a reflection of K-State Olathe’s commitment to meeting demands of the business community in executive meeting space as well as research and education. It’s a more formal setting, with a more sophisticated decor and features basic audiovisual equipment.

The word “board” brings to mind images of wealthy men seated in a room with a wood panel with high ceilings, pondering the corporate policy and pricing in hopes of the sole purpose of monopolizing a market or opportunity. The boardroom is now a hub for innovation which allows collaboration and participation from all over the world in making crucial decisions that impact an entire company.

The layout of the room must be flexible, allowing it to adapt to the purpose for which it was designed. The room should also include the latest technology to facilitate the most productive meetings possible. The atmosphere of the boardroom should be welcoming and comfortable to encourage participation and promote ideas exchange.

A boardroom must have the proper size screen to accommodate all attendees. It should also include projection equipment to show whiteboards and presentations to facilitate discussions. Modern boardrooms often include videoconferencing software which allows remote participants to connect and allow for greater diversity in the board. Infassure provides modern boardrooms to ensure that your next meeting goes smoothly.
